So I was browsing the internet and came upon a blog by Mandy that stopped updating since 2007. I was surprised to see these photos of Mandy with family celebrating the handover of Hong Kong in 1997.

"1997年7月1日那一个晚上，记得我们一家大小十多人到我家来庆祝，还订了一个大蛋糕，看着电视，一起迎接这个大日子．虽然我两位Aunties 选择了移民加拿大，他们都异口同声对97回归后的香港没有太大的信心和感到忧虑，但对于仍留香港的家人却认为香港始终是我们的家，不论衣、食、住、行都是 最好的．那年让我印象最深刻的就是看了一支美国国际巨星Michael Jackson的MTV，很欣赏他的舞姿、台风和唱歌技巧，家中也因此而收藏了所有他的CD和concerts的影碟，而我从小的志愿本要成为一位音乐 家，希望到维也纳学习音乐艺术，但从那年开始，我就深深爱上了舞蹈和音乐剧，希望更深入研究这门艺术，激发我考入演艺学院的念头，成为一位优秀的艺术家．"
July 1, 1997, I remember that night when more than 10 people came to my house to celebrate. With the arrival of the big day we celebrated with a big cake and watching TV. Although two of my Aunties decided to move to Canada, Hong Kong was still our home, regardless of clothes, food, shelter, It's still great. That year, I was impressed by international superstar Michael Jackson's MTV. I admire his dancing and singing skills. At home was also a collection of his CDs and Concert DVD. I wanted to study Music, but from beginning of that year, I fell in love with dance and musical theater. I wanted a more in dept study of art and was admitted to the Academy to become a good artist.
